The first part in the customer value journey is to be aware. Awareness is the starting point of any successful interaction. We make sure that you are everywhere, in a way that sparks interest in the minds of your ideal customer, and allows people to notice you, and to get that initial feel for who you are, the same as you would in a normal human-human relationship.

The next step in the customer value journey is to engage. If we look at a normal human relationship, once you are aware of someone that interests you, the next step is to engage with them, to have an actual human-to-human conversation. This engagement allows you to decide whether or not this relationship is something that you actually want to pursue! We facilitate the initial conversation, we set up the connection, and we engage!

The next step in the customer value journey is to subscribe. Subscription, in a normal human relationship, would be the part where you ask someone for their number. You’ve met, you had a great time, you see a possible future, so now, you need to connect, to communicate, in order to take the relationship to the next level. This could be through Facebook, LinkedIn, email, or any platform that serves to connect people beyond a first encounter.

You’ve seen someone, somewhere, and have actively taken notice of them, we are aware of them. You’ve started to engage, through chats, messages, or actual conversations. You’ve also subscribed, because they have a direct way of getting in touch with us. Now, we have reached the conversion stage. Conversion is where you invite them out, maybe to a game, to a movie, or to a lunch, something after the initial meeting or conversation. Online, this is where you have asked someone to participate in a quiz, download an ebook, and they have actually done it. Conversion, online, is the part of the customer value journey where they take the action that you’ve requested them to.

Excitement is the part where you create that emotion in someone, you really pique their interest! Excitement is key. When engaging online, where business is the topic of conversation, it’s much more direct, and targeted. You need that excitement to be present, then you know that someone really wants to take this relationship to the next level, with you, your business, and your service or product offerings.

In business, there are only 4 ways in which you can make money. You need to get more leads, more customers, or, you need to increase the frequency that your customers purchase from you, or you need to increase the profit that you make per purchase, per customer. That is the ascension stage. In those four elements, you need to start thinking about how to increase your sales, after your core offering has been given. So, ascension is first, and then you give your core offering. This is the part of the journey where a contract is entered into, a retainer is signed, or a subscription offer comes into play. The ascension part of this is to ensure that you are creating long lasting client relationships.

Advocate and promotion go hand in hand, as with a normal human-to-human relationship, after you’ve given your core offering, and deepened the relationship, you have already taken it to the next level. This is the part where you post a picture with your new significant other, or, your new girlfriend tags you in a sweet photo and captions it with something along the lines of, “Isn’t he just amazing”? Whatever it is, you are being spoken about, publicly, you are being promoted, this is the advocacy and promotion point in the relationship.

Your relationship has gone from perfect strangers, along the customer value journey, deepening the relationship to the point where someone feels safe and secure enough to speak about you, or promote and advocate for you, to other people in their business. They may even refer other people to you. This is the part that you want to get to, you’ve managed to create, and nurture a relationship to the point where you now have a raving fan.
